Bairstow, Anderson to Head to South Africa for Training Camp

Jonny Bairstow will take part in a training camp in Potchefstroom, South Africa, at the start of December with "the aim of returning to England's Test squad".

Bairstow was dropped for the current two Test tour to New Zealand after a disappointing Ashes series with the bat.

Bairstow will train against James Anderson and Mark Wood who will be continuing their rehabilitation from injuries in Potchesfstroom at a specialist pace bowling camp, designed to test the pair's fitness ahead of the Test series against South Africa.

Olly Stone, Craig Overton and Sussex's Ollie Robinson will also take part in the camp between December 1 and 14.

All three of Anderson, Wood and Bairstow will hope to be included in the squad for the four Test series in South Africa.

Anderson has not played since injuring his calf in the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston while Wood has been out for even longer having had knee surgery after the World Cup final.

Both fast-bowlers have recently been in Spain doing some outdoor bowling.
