IND vs RSA : Hosts Chip Away at South African Top Order

Day - 3, Lunch

Brief Scores: South Africa 129/6 * (Zubair Hamza 62; Jadeja 2-12, Umesh 2-39) trail India 497/9 decl. (Rohit Sharma 212, Ajinkya Rahane 115, Ravindra Jadeja 51; George Linde 4-133) by 388 runs.

Umesh Yadav bowled a peach of a delivery in the opening over to get rid of Faf du Plessis.

The ball angled into the right-hander, seamed away after pitching to kiss the off-stump. The early jolt in the day was followed by some attacking batting from rookie Zubair Hamza who helped himself to a quick half-century in the company of the tenacious Temba Bavuma.

The duo added 91 runs in 21-odd overs playing with confidence on a tough pitch. The stand was broken by Ravindra Jadeja, when he got a short of length ball to skid through and knock Hamza's leg-stump back.

Bavuma was the next one to go as he became Shabhaz Nadeem's maiden Test wicket, when he was deceived in the flight and lured out of the crease, only for the ball to spin away and the keeper to collect and remove the bails.

Henrich Klassen was the last wicket to fall in the session as Jadeja produced a ripper to beat the right-hander's bat and hit the top of off-stump.

South Africa might end up batting in their second innings before the start of the third session.
