Real Madrid have announced that Toni Kroos is suffering from a muscle problem that will see him spend an undefined period of time on the sidelines, with the German having been forced off the pitch after 34 minutes in Los Blancos' 4-2 win over Granada on Saturday.

Kroos appears to have suffered from an abductor muscle strain in his thigh, the severity of which remains unknown. Grade one strains tend to improve after around the two-week mark, while the worst of them, grade three, can take months.

Releasing a statement on their official website, Madrid said:

“After tests carried out today on the player Toni Kroos by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the adductor (sic) in his left foot. His recovery will continue to be assessed.”
