The Ashes: Hazlewood's Late Burst Puts England in Trouble

Day 3 - Stumps

England 200/5 (Stokes 7*, Bairstow 2*; Hazlewood 4-48) trail Australia 497/8 (Smith 211, Labuschagne 67) by 297 runs

A century partnership between Rory Burns and Joe Root kept Australia waiting for a while but Josh Hazlewood ensured that the visitors would continue to dominate the fourth Ashes Test at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Burns (81) and Root (71) put on a 141-run partnership for the third wicket across two sessions on the 3rd Day but Australia came roaring back into the game thanks to Hazlewood's 3-wicket burst in the final session, which included the dismissals of Root, Burns & Roy.

That left England at 200 for 5 - still 297 behind, before bad light forced an end to the Day's play.
