Thailand women made history by qualifying for their maiden Women's T20 World Cup, to be played in Australia next year.

They sealed qualification with an emphatic 8-wicket win over Papua New Guinea in Dundee. Thailand won the 7-team T20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifier at home in February 2019 to qualify for main Qualifiers in Scotland. By winning the semi-finals against Papua New Guinea in this tournament, they've won 21 games in a row and have been rewarded with a spot in the 2020 Women World Cup to be held Down Under.


Thailand will face Bangladesh in the final of this qualifying tournament, who ensured qualification to the premier event by beating Ireland in the semi-finals.
